FAQs We're here to help.

Who can become a Host?

Absolutely anyone who wishes to earn money! You also must be over 18 years of age, have a current Australian driver’s licence, and a reliable mode of transport.

What do I need to do to qualify as a Host?

You must be an Australian resident, minimum of 18 years of age, and are legally allowed to earn income in Australia. You are also required to obtain a Police check, which we can assist you with. These checks are conducted annually. We do this to help reassure our Sellers that we have taken precautionary screening measures of our Hosts, before they invite potential strangers into their homes to conduct their inspections. You must provide sufficient identification, proving you meet all of our requirements to become a Host.

You will also need to participate in an initial mandatory training session, as well as any future training sessions.

Does that mean I become an employee of listsocial?

No, you technically become a contractor to listsocial. We provide you with a paid monthly invoice, indicating any revenue that you have earned for the past month. You are responsible for all your own accounting requirements, including commitments to paying any relevant tax or superannuation, etc. If you are still unsure about your accounting responsibilities, we recommend you seek professional accounting advice beforehand.

Does it cost anything to become a Host?

Yes. Upfront, you are required to pay $190 for your initial mandatory training session and Police Check. Additional annual costs will be required for any future training, and Police and Working With Children check renewals. We also suggest you seek professional advice for Professional Indemnity insurance, as you will not be covered by any of our insurance.

When do I get paid?

Once you complete an inspection, you need to confirm when completed. Once the owner appoves your payment will be issued in our monthly invoice run.
